On Episode 7 of “My Gospel Music”, Mr. Bob Jones shares his journey of Gospel Music. Beginning with his Dad, Bob Jones, Sr. and the formation of The Songfellows Quartet. Bob talks about how he joined the group and then later took a new career path for most of his adult life that led him to companies such as Steinway Pianos, Baldwin Pianos, Samick Music and President of The Zondervan Music Group. Bob was directly influential in the careers of The Cathedral Quartet, Sandi Patti, Carman, Larnelle Harris and many others. With his successful career, Bob never lost sight of his interest in singing and rejoined his Dad’s group, The Songfellows Quartet when Bob was the President of Samick Music, the world’s largest manufacturer of Pianos and Guitars. Moving back to Nashville, TN in 2006, Bob reformed The Songfellows Quartet after his Dad’s induction into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and following retirement, and today, Bob and The Songfellows travel coast to coast sharing the music and message that first brought Bob into Gospel Music so many years ago.
